Dolphin Setup - Dolphin Troubleshooting
Q: The game has a blank/flickering white screen at startup
A: PSO Works best when Dolphin is set to
OpenGL rendering. to set this:
- From the
main dolphin window, click Options, Graphics settings
- Change the
back end to Open GL, and click OK
Q: You get "A memory Card is require to play" error when
starting the game
A: Create or mount a virtual memory card in dolphin. To do
this:
- From the
main dolphin window, click Options, Configure...
- Click the
Gamecube tab
- Set Slot A
to memory card
- click the
three dots (...) next to slot A
- If a file
called MemoryCardA does not exist, create one.
- Click OK
Q: You get a "Could not find the device connected to serial
port 1" message when you go to configure the Network/Provider
A: You haven't installed the virtual Broadband adaptor in
dolphin. to do this:
- From the
main dolphin window, click Options, Configure...
- Click the
Gamecube tab
- Set SP1 to
BBA, and click OK
Q: You can't fill in the Network connection page because
bits are missing or not changing
A: This mainly seems to affect the Access version with
only the JP Disk uses. Use Dolphin's software rendering mode (slow but accurate)
to complete setup:
- From the
main dolphin window, click Options, Graphics settings
- Change the
back end to Software render, click OK to the performance warning, then click OK
- Start the
game. It will probably run ~very~ slow: 4-5 fps is normal
- At the
title screen, press Start > Options > Network Options > Provider Options > Yes
- You'll go
to the network setup system, which will run at your normal framerate. Complete
the setup, save, then return to the game
- Close
dolphin, Open Dolphin, and set the graphics back to OpenGL (Options > Graphic
Settings > Backend > OpenGL > OK)
Q: The first time you connect after opening Dolphin, you get
"Error 05: Connection Attempt failed to retrieve IP Address from DHCP"
A: The DHCP server in your internal network may not respond fast enough. Quit to
the start screen, and re-connect.
Q: You get a TAP error in Dolphin when you configure the
network or chose online game
A: You either didn't install OpenVPN or Bridge the connections.
Run through Install the TAP adaptor instructions
again.
Q: Can I use the keyboard to type?
A: It does not look like the
keyboard controller is working in Dolphin yet...
